Schools SEN Funding Reforms

Essentially the reform is to simplify how schools are funded, making it easier to understand and more equitable across the country. The reform is being driven by the Department for Education and will be implemented nationally by the Local Authorities (LA) as of 1st April 2013. All Hampshire schools are aware of the funding reforms and will be advised of their allocated budget in March 2013.

The important thing for parents/carers to remember is that these changes will not affect the level of the support your child receives, and the school must continue to deliver to the statement.

Whilst the reform will not affect your child, we appreciate some parents/carers may wish to know more about the changes. HPCN has worked alongside Hampshire County Council to produce a FAQs leaflet which is aimed specifically at parents and carers.
