Parent Carer Representatives (Local Authority)

led by: Gail Bedding

Sit on a workstream, steering group or strategic board discussing education, social or leisure services and provisions.  You will usually attend in tandem with another HPCN representative.  We will match you with issues that you have interest or experience in.

Talking, networking, informing and working with professionals in health:  GP leads, CCG leads, Therapy leads, Community Nurses, the Doing it Differently initiative, and much more …

 Regional Representatives

led by: Gail Bedding

Set up and run one of our HPCN Get Together (regional) groups.  Meetings usually take place monthly.  A vacancy currently exists (Jan 2017) for a Regional Representatives in the Central/West (Andover area) of Hampshire.   We would also like to hear from existing support agencies operating in the South West/New Forest area who would like us to make contact.  

 Schools Representatives

led by: Ros Pawling

Become an HPCN Talk Together (schools) representative.  Go into mainstream schools and help set up meetings for parent carers of children with additional needs.   You go onto a bank of schools representatives and can opt in when there is an opportunity at a school near you.

 Volunteer Newsletter Contributors

led by: Wendy Davey

Help with the content for the quarterly newsletter.  Edit, research, write, persuade others to write or take part in an interview.  Contributors needed.  Homeworking with the occasional meeting.

Volunteer Social Media, Web & Digital Gurus

Take responsibility for the delivery of an aspect of our social media, web or digital media communications, with the support of HPCN’s Communications Officer.

 Volunteer Publicity Champions

Take responsibility for the distribution of HPCN publicity materials within your local area, with the support of HPCN’s Communications Officer.  Remuneration for expenses available by arrangement.

 Volunteer Event Workers

Volunteer to help staff HPCN events ranging from HPCN’s Annual General Meeting to our range of Learn Together training events and to external exhibitions and events.

 HPCN Trustees

HPCN are currently looking for individuals to join the Trustee team.  We are particularly keen to find parent carer trustees who have additional experience in either the law, fundraising, education, health, or marketing.  We want to recruit Trustees who are willing to give their time on sub-committees over and above the quarterly Trustee meetings.

Presenters & Speakers

HPCN is always looking for people willing to share their personal or professional experience related to children and young people aged 0-25 years with additional needs.  We provide opportunities to speak at HPCN regional and schools meetings and HPCN learning events.  We regularly host meetings, workshops, clinics and courses on issues such as dyspraxia, sleep, autism, behaviour management, Hampshire’s Local Offer, Depression, Speech and Language, and much more.  If you have something you are able to talk about or demonstrate to our members, please contact Lorna and ask to go onto our bank of speakers.
